After SURGERY has been performed the patient will start eating again in accordance with a dietary regime drawn up by the dietician before he/she is discharged. The doctor of the General Surgery complex operative unit will ask the patient to attend the first post-operative FOLLOW-UP visits included in the surgical package:

• check-up at Surgery Outpatients within 1-2 weeks of discharge
• check-up at the Endocrinology Outpatients 4-6 weeks after the operation.
• psychological assessment 4-8 weeks after the operation.

Any blood or instrumental tests and specialist examinations in addition to those mentioned above can be carried out at our Institute as a private paying patient. The cost of any visits to see specialist shall be the fee set by each individual doctor.

The patient will be given indications on the medical specialists available (nutritionists, dieticians, psychologist and surgeon) and the schedule for follow-up visits to attend at our Institute or c/o similar structures in the patient’s country of residence.
